EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required in Environmental, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, with a focus on construction. May substitute degree in Business Management or equivalent, plus a certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), NEBOSH Diploma or CPD/IPD.
Experience working in any one or multiples of the following is essential: project management, construction, heavy industry, facilities maintenance, chemical processing and refining environments, manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical / biotechnology.
7+ years of experience leading an EHS organization or large EHS programs in a multi-site environment. Working knowledge of regional construction and general industry government health, safety and environmental regulations is required.
5+ years leading and managing projects – certification in project management (PMP) preferred.
5+ years managing people in a multi-site and highly matrixed environment; Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse team of technical managerial/supervisory, professional, and support staff.
Demonstrated experience delivering results in a highly matrixed, sometimes ambiguous environment.
Ability to establish and build strong relationships across a diverse network.
Experience with mergers & acquisitions is a highly desirable.
Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and strategically integrate multiple developmental, enhancement, and/or modification projects on a global level.
Knowledge of current developments and trends in QHSE best practices and related technology.
Knowledge and understanding of CBRE PjM/QHSE organization structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS
Although this a remote position, local regional travel of 25% is expected with overnight stay and periodic international travel may be required when business dictates.
